Procurement Outreach Program

Purpose:

The Procurement Outreach Program (POP) promotes economic diversification of the economy by increasing the flow of federal contracting dollars to Nevada. Non-gaming and non-tourism businesses are provided with the access and tools necessary to find, bid on and win both out-of-state and federal contracts, as well as State of Nevada and local government contracts.

Key Long-Term Objectives:

Continue to provide the Nevada business community with a service that provides assistance in becoming more competitive in the state, local and federal marketplaces.

Accomplishments:

During the past biennium, POP increased their client base to 2,294. From this base, 613 companies were awarded $130.9 million in contracts.

POP sponsored, co-sponsored or participated in more than 85 procurement training seminars presented statewide to more than 4,607 Nevada business people.

The POP successfully completed the 13th consecutive year of partnership between the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and CED.
