Holabird Re-Elected to International Film Board

Robin Holabird, deputy director of the Nevada Film Office, has been re-elected to the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Board of Director.

"This position provides tremendous opportunities for one-on-one dealings with filmmakers," notes Holabird, whose role on the board last summer had her moderating a panel of British industry leaders including the producer of Shakespeare in Love.

The more than 300 AFCI member organizations promote locations filming worldwide. The group has been active developing policies for filming on federal lands and exploring incentive programs that bring production companies to many regions.

Holabird, who began location scouting for the Nevada Film Office in 1986, has worked on such projects as Misery, Sister Act and such upcoming projects as Diamonds with Kirk Douglas. She has been busy recently on the feature Squelch with Leelee Sobieski (Joan of Arc), currently filming along the I-80 corridor.

The Nevada Film Office is a division of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.
