    Small Business Conference for Western States Scheduled this Friday
    Event focuses on issues facing small businesses in the next century

    Where: John Ascuaga’s Nugget-Sparks When: Friday, November 19 9-5 p.m.


    Small business owners and representatives from three western states will have the chance to showcase their capabilities to government agencies and major corporations such as Aerojet, Hewlett Packard, Lockheed Martin and TRW at Marketplace 2000 on Friday, November 19, at John Ascuaga’s Nugget in Sparks. As part of the conference, businesspeople will also be able to attend a number of workshops designed to prepare them for doing business in the next century.

    From electronic commerce and Y2K, to the mentoring protégé program, lean manufacturing and new goals for HUB zones and veterans, businesspeople from the states of Nevada, Hawaii and California will get a jump on topics important to their businesses and essential to their ability to obtain government contracts. The marketplace exhibition and conference is being held by the Western Regional Council for Small Business Education and Advocacy of the Department of Defense.
