Climate

Nevada - the Spanish word for "snow capped" - is relatively dry. Annual precipitation is typically 15 inches or less reaching a low of four inches in the southern region of the state.

Northern Nevada enjoys four distinct seasons.

The sun shines more than 300 days per year and the winter days are usually crisp, white, and sunny. Temperatures in southern Nevada average 10 to 15 degrees higher than Northern Nevada. The state's overall lack of humidity gives the weather a more moderate feel allowing for outdoor activities all year.
